Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how PurchaseProof handles information when you organize purchases, save receipts and documents, use smart scanning, enable reminders or iCloud, manage a subscription, or contact support.
Effective date: 09.07.2026
Use of the App is also subject to our Terms of Use.
1. Controller and contact details
The App is operated by Kovacs Software Solutions. Privacy or general inquiries may be sent to info@kovacssoftware.com; technical support inquiries may be sent to support@kovacssoftware.com.
2. Scope
This Policy applies to the mobile App, its related API services, the PurchaseProof website, legal and support pages, smart-scan processing, account and subscription functions, and communications with us. Third-party services have their own privacy policies.
3. Information you provide or store
Depending on the features you use, the App may process:
- Purchase details such as product and store names, dates, prices, currencies, categories, return deadlines, warranty periods, providers, and serial numbers.
- Receipts, invoices, warranty certificates, product photos, PDFs, notes, and other files you choose.
- Reminder settings and generated notification content.
- Account identifiers and information returned by Sign in with Apple, which may include an Apple relay email if you choose to share it.
- Support messages, screenshots, files, and other information you choose to send.
4. Information generated or collected automatically
We may process a random device-installation identifier, guest or authenticated session identifiers, access and refresh tokens, entitlement and smart-scan usage, subscription status, request timestamps, technical logs, error details, IP address, device or operating-system information, and security or fraud-prevention signals.
We do not use third-party advertising SDKs and do not sell personal information or receipts.
5. Device permissions
The App requests permissions only for features you choose, including camera access for receipt capture, access to photos or documents you select, notifications for reminders, Face ID for app locking, and iCloud for optional backup or synchronization. You can manage permissions in device settings.
6. Sensitive information in receipts
Receipts and purchase documents can reveal sensitive or personal details, including pharmacy or medical purchases, personal products, addresses, phone numbers, or delivery information. Do not upload information that is unnecessary. Where possible, redact content you do not want processed before uploading it.
7. How we use information
- Operate the App and provide requested receipt, purchase, document, reminder, account, and subscription features.
- Perform smart scanning and return structured results for your review.
- Store data locally and perform optional iCloud backup or synchronization.
- Authenticate sessions, restore access, reconcile purchases, and enforce free-use allowances.
- Provide support, diagnose errors, maintain reliability, secure the service, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Comply with law, legal process, and enforceable requests, and protect our rights and the rights of users or third parties.
8. Smart scanning and artificial intelligence
When you use smart scanning, the selected image or PDF is sent to our service and an external artificial-intelligence provider—currently OpenAI—to extract fields such as store, purchase date, amount, products, and any explicitly printed warranty or return information.
The file is sent only to perform the requested scan and return a result. We do not sell receipts, use them for advertising, or use them to train our own models. Smart-scan results may be incomplete or wrong; review and correct them before saving or relying on them.
9. Local storage, iCloud, and backups
Purchase data and documents are stored on your device by default. If you enable iCloud, selected App information may be stored in your private iCloud account under Apple’s settings and terms. Apple controls iCloud infrastructure, account access, and related retention. Disabling synchronization does not necessarily delete an existing iCloud copy.
10. Service providers and recipients
We disclose only information reasonably needed for a service or legal purpose. Providers may include:
- Apple for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, subscriptions, refunds, iCloud, and device services.
- RevenueCat for subscription entitlement, purchase verification, restoration, and fraud prevention.
- OpenAI for user-requested receipt and document processing.
- Cloud hosting, security, logging, monitoring, email, and support providers.
- Authorities or professional advisers where required by law or necessary to protect rights and security.
We may also transfer information as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.
11. International transfers
Providers may process information outside Israel, including in the United States or Europe. Transfers occur only as needed to operate, secure, support, and legally administer the service. We seek established providers offering customary contractual and technical safeguards.
12. Legal bases
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing may be necessary to perform the service you request, comply with legal obligations, protect legitimate interests in operating and securing the App, establish or defend legal claims, or act with your consent—such as when you enable optional permissions or iCloud.
13. Retention
Local information remains until you delete it, delete the local account, or remove the App, subject to device and backup behavior. iCloud data follows your Apple account and settings. Smart-scan files are retained only as reasonably necessary for processing, security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, or support. Technical logs and subscription records may be retained for limited periods needed for security, entitlement management, fraud prevention, disputes, or legal compliance.
14. Deletion
You can delete purchases, receipts, documents, and reminders through available App controls. You can initiate account deletion in Settings where supported or contact us.
Account deletion does not cancel an App Store subscription and may not delete information controlled by Apple, such as billing history or iCloud data. Some records may be retained where required or permitted for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, disputes, or enforcement.
15. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, clarify, delete, object to, or restrict processing of personal information. Submit requests to info@kovacssoftware.com. We may request information necessary to verify identity and will respond as required by law.
Information controlled by Apple, including App Store billing, subscriptions, purchase history, or iCloud, may need to be managed directly through Apple.
16. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, which may include encrypted transport, access controls, authentication, secure token storage, separation of environments, monitoring, and limited provider access. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
17. Children
The App is not directed to young children and is intended for users able to enter a binding agreement or use it with appropriate parent or guardian authorization. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information improperly.
18. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy as the App, providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice where required.
